  • Author: Thomas
  • Total Time: 6-7 hours (LOW) / 3-4 hours (HIGH)

Description

This Creamy Ranch Chicken is an easy, comforting slow cooker meal packed with rich flavors. The combination of ranch seasoning, cream of chicken soup, and cheddar cheese creates a creamy, savory sauce that pairs perfectly with chicken and optional veggies. Great for a hassle-free dinner!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 packet (1 oz) ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup chicken broth

Optional Add-Ins:

  • 4 medium potatoes, diced
  • 1 ½ cups frozen peas or green beans

Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the Slow Cooker: Lightly grease your slow cooker with non-stick spray or butter.

2️⃣ Layer Ingredients: Place the chicken breasts at the bottom of the slow cooker. If using potatoes, spread them around the chicken.

3️⃣ Mix the Sauce: In a bowl, combine cream of chicken soup, ranch seasoning, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and chicken broth. Stir until smooth.

4️⃣ Cook Low & Slow: Pour the mixture over the chicken and potatoes. Cover and cook on LOW for 6-7 hours or HIGH for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender.

5️⃣ Add Cheese & Veggies: In the last 30 minutes, stir in shredded cheddar cheese and frozen peas or green beans (if using). Let the cheese melt and the veggies cook through.

6️⃣ Shred & Serve: Use two forks to shred the chicken or serve the breasts whole with the creamy sauce over the top. Enjoy with rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes!

Notes

  • Make It Thicker: If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix in ½ teaspoon cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of cold water and stir it in during the last 30 minutes.
  • Extra Flavor: Add cooked, crumbled bacon for a smoky touch!
  • Storage: Leftovers keep well in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
